Everyone at Expedia has been bitten by the travel bug. They help more people see the world. What better way to encourage employee referrals than to parody the chotchkies people give each other after trips? Instead of posters, we hung T-Shirts on the walls and delivered mugs with funny messaging. We followed it up with an HTML email and directed employees to a microsite experience. After the contest was announced, there was an 80% increase in site traffic and over 200 contest entries within the first two days.
